Howdy Ya'll,
I'm Billy Jones, the first Poet Laureate of North America. "TM" "What does that mean?" you ask. Well what it means is, I've spent a lifetime traveling the United States, Canada, and Mexico. and I've come to tell you all about it.It also means I've Trademarked the title Poet Laureate of North America "TM" and any derivitive of it.
I'm also the author of a great book titled CARROT ON A STICK, A Book About Everything, Well Almost Everything, and you're in it. That's right, you're in it.
While you're here, check out some of my poetry, and the poetry and stories written by some of my friends. If you want you can join www.prose-n-poetry.com, a non-profit corporation started by my friend Bob Betts in Florida. PNP is a great place to read and write poetry, prose, and stories, even entire novels by some of the best writers on the Internet.
Check out a great book of poetry, THE CUP AND SAUCER TREE by my friend AR (David) Lewis. David is from Wales and is a veteran of World War II. He writes some of the best poetry on his side of the pond. You can find David's book along with the first PNP anthology, TIDES FROM THE HEART at the PNP Co-op Store. By the way, I'm in the anthology as well.
Also at the PNP Co-op store is the first book by William Robbins, a zany satire called THE GRUMBLER CHRONICLES. Read about Otis Grumbler and his sidekick, Smog Boy, as this dynmanic duo risk life and limb to fight grime.
My friend David Taub is from England, but lives in Florida now. David is the American Poetry Editor for Poetry Now magazine, and along with his wife kt Frankovich, and friend Ruth Solomon have just released the award winning book, LANGUAGE OF THE SOULS.
THE GODS LAUGHED. That's the title of the first book written and published by Wide Thinker Magazine Editor, Kaya Casper-- a friend of mine as well-- and her friend Rick White. It's a great story about overcoming prejudice in order to survive. You can find it at Widethinker.com. I'd suggest you click on the link and order it. I sometimes write at Wide Thinker as well.
If you like great music, then check out my friend Scott Perry, one of the finest acoustic blues guitarists in the world. Oh yea, the boy can sing too.
Also, for more great music, check out Memphis. Memphis is playing the best Southern style Roots Rock that I've ever heard. They've got a couple of CD's you'll just love and I just can't say enough about their great picking and wonderous harmonies.
Would you like to know about the world? Well my friend Monroe Fisher has traveled even farther than I have. He's even written a fantastic book titled TALES FROM ON THE SURFACE. Monroe even has a sequal titled THE ROAD GOES ON FOREVER. You can use the link to go to Monroe's website talkabouttheworld.com, and view over forty thousand pictures of his travels.
There's a link here to buy the book, The AWAKENING OF ADAM, written by my West Virginia friend, Brother Charles H. Dove. The Awakening of Adam reviels the knowledge that the church never wanted you to know, and will help you along the path to spiritual enlightenment.
You can also find lots of other neat stuff here like The End Of The Internet, and more. Just click on the links page to see ton more great stuff created by my friends. Before you go, be sure you check out this weeks edition of the Vegetable Stalker and see what ol' Veggie gets into next.
I hope you'll take the time to look at some of my poetry, check out some links, and maybe buy a copy of CARROT ON A STICK, but most of all I hope you enjoy reading my poems and stories.
Last but not least, if you've got any great ideas for links that I might want to add, then be sure to email me at carrotsticks_2000@yahoo.com and let me know about them. Who knows, maybe we can swap links sometime.
God bless you all. Bye now. -Billy Jones, Poet Laureate of North America "tm"
