The purpose of this page is to help obtain a public OHV riding area in the upstate of SC.
As you all know, Glassy Mountain was sold and closed to all OHV riding years ago, and the DNR (Department of Natural Resources) has banned all trail bike riding from Jocassee. Since then, there hasn't been a public area in the upstate where we can ride. We can change that. Jocasse has 34,000 acres. I don't think letting us use 1,000 would do any damage. Yes, it will take a little work on our part, but well worth the effort. We need to contact our state elected officials, And the DNR to make this happen.
Go To: Photo Albums> click on Pickens county(and DNR), then click on their picture to obtain their contact infomation.
E-mail them, Call, or Write a letter to their mailing address.
Simply explain that Parsons Mountain or Cedar Springs is too far away for a SUNDAY afternoon ride for most of us.
I know it's a little work on our part, but the benefits are well worth the effort.

| The DNR( Department of Natural Resources) has taken this riding area (Jocassee Gorges, aka; The Horse Pasture) from us. We paid for it with our taxes. Let's take it back!!! |
