About Spiritual Emphasis Revival Services 2012.
We love to talk about it, sing about it, pray about it. Now, Monticello United Church of Christ will celebrate it— God’s Amazing Grace - during our 2012 Spiritual Emphasis Services, Sunday May 20 through Tuesday, May 22 starting at 7:00 pm each night.

And we hope YOU—along with family and friends—will join us!
Sunday evening we will have Hannah’s Haven Ministries. Monday evening we will have Rev. Tim Drum, preaching and who is the Pastor at Friendship and Brown Summit UMC churches. Special music Monday night will be provided by Alex Kunar and company. Although plans for Sunday and Monday nights’ programs are still being finalized at this time, we will begin our celebration on Sunday evening, May 20 with a covered dish supper at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Monday and Tuesday nights our program will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Then, on Tuesday evening, we are excited that Mrs. Rachelle Brand Denny will join us for our Spiritual Emphasis Services. Here are some of the reasons we believe we will all be blessed by her sharing with us:
v She is one of Roy’s folks on Channel 8 TV in High Point with her various musical instruments;
v She is the mother of four children and grandmother to nine grandchildren;
v She is a retired elementary school teacher and principal in Ohio Public schools, High Point City schools and Wesleyan Christian Academy.
v She is a retired Elementary Education Professor from John Wesley College, High Point NC;
v She volunteers at the High Point Regional Hospital with her music on the grand piano in the lobby. She ministers with programs at churches, senior centers, nursing homes and community events;
v She is married to Rev. James L. Denny, Pastor Emeritus at High Point First Wesleyan Church.
Rachelle describes their life in retirement as being like Musical Merry- Go-Round…”We feel like we are going in circles to music . . . But it is so much fun!”
We will share complete plans when they are final; meanwhile, please plan to join us as we celebrate in new and exciting ways God’s Amazing Grace!

You may place your items on the front pew in the sanctuary. For the month of May, we are asking for bags of rice. Remember that these items go into backpacks so should not be the large bags but should be a size and weight that the children can easily carry.

How can we help? $6 feeds one child for a weekend. $30 feeds one child for a month. $240 feeds one child for the year Items needed are: Peanut Butter , Canned Meats, Boxes of Oatmeal (single bag servings), Bags of rice, Mac and Cheese, Apple Sauce, Granola Bars, Soup, Canned Vegetables, Individual Fruit Cups, Tuna Helper, No glass items or heavy items. We will be collecting money and food items for this program in March. Please make checks out to the church and memo Back Pack.
