WHAT I HAVE TO SHARE...
My PhD is in International Negotiation, and I have done some of that, but my specialty is in finance, and especially mortgages. I have worked in all aspects of the industry from Loan Officer to creation of new products on Wall Street in joint venture with Kidder Peabody and A.G. Edwards. My career has allowed me to be a published author, expert witness and high level consultant. I am a 25-year member of the Mensa Society (called the "High IQ Club"), and Intertel Society (Top 1%).
I am a Messianic Believer. Although I was raised Baptist, and agree with their basic teachings, our Hebrew roots are important to me. Our God actually has a name, Yahweh, and Jesus' real name was Yeshua, which translates to: God Saves. He was not an Anglo-Saxon, didn't speak English, and it wasn't by accident. He chose to be a Jew, as He had taught them the feasts and festivals to tell the whole salvation story in symbolism.
The Jewish people were chosen by God to be His Family, and they were given the special instructions to live by. But the leadership missed that fact that Jesus/Yeshua was/is the Messiah.
On the other hand, Gentiles and Christians have been taught that just a one-time Confession of Faith puts them in goodstanding with God forever, without care to maintain the relationship. There is little concern for living the way God taught, observing Sabbath, the feasts, using the Hebrew language the God created, etc.
I believe that each group has one-half of the whole Truth. Each is one side of the coin, thinking that the other side is wrong. It is time we find Peace and worship in Truth. That is what the Messianic Alliance of Nashville is about.
A delightful family has been one of my best blessings. We are generations of bright, fun Christians, and now include my daughters, Teresa and TraceeLeigh, who are happily married (Scott and Alan respectively), successful and nice to be around. We 5 are great friends.
Almost by "coincidence" we all have been relocated to Nashville (Brentwood area), in this last year...another great blessing. I have been a widow for 12 years, but am a generally happy, positive person, and have no lingering emotional baggage.
I was raised with the genteel manners to be a perfect corporate wife to some executive, but life turned into me BEING the executive, instead. I have had all kinds of worldly success: career, traveling, modeling, friendships, accolades. I have enjoyed working and site-seeing in over 50 countries, including Russia, China, Egypt and all of Europe. And I'd do it all again!
But when the glitz is stripped away, all that worldly stuff doesn't mean as much as who I am now, in my faith, and in relationship with others. What good is a person who isn't a joy to be around, or have an interest in being in God's will, being a person of integrity and a true friend, or giving back to the world?
I love to laugh - at myself, life situations, jokes and every kind of impromptu humor. Aren't smiles beautiful? And the next best thing is good conversation...lively or tender... meeting intellectually and/or emotionally is a joy.
For inside activities, when I'm not working or writing a new book or article, I'm reading. I enjoy many hobbies and interests. For out-of-the-house things, I'm up for about anything... museums, theatre, movies, going to a game, or even flea markets and garage sales -- Many of my outside activities revolve around the family ranch. Have you ever worked a cattle round-up? If not, you haven't lived.
I love all things feminine, but I'm not prissy or self-centered. I'm equally comfortable in a ball gown, at the beach or sloshing around a corral... as long as it is with "good people".
My original home was north of the Mason-Dixon (sorry), but lived in Atlanta the last 25 years. Spent so much time in Sarasota, I still have good friends there; but, now I'm interested in getting to know the Panama City - Pensacola area.
I hope you are counting your blessings today - depression always gives way to gratitude when it is given the chance.
