Searching for our Family Branches. Surnames:SMITH, BROOKS,COLE,RUSSELL,McCAUGHAN,ROBERTS,DEAN,ORR,ODREN,RIGGS,THOMAS,SHEETS,SILLETT,GRISSOM,KRIEGER,BALDWIN,SAMPLE,MOORE. We have been searching for our family for 15 years. They come from Tennessee, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, an rumors of Illinios, Pennsylvania, an Georgia. We live in Knoxville, TN. My wife's family on the BROOKS side are mostly descendant from Cherokee Nation that stayed in Tennessee an Georgia or hided from the soldiers during the Trail of Tears. The SHEETS side was from around Madison, IN. an Carroll County, Kentucky. They made a living on the river as fishermen. There was a DEAN in Kentucky that was suppose to be a hangmen judge. My Uncle was Brainard Cummins. He an his Father both are the creator of the cummins engine that in alot of trucks today. They also hold the diesel record for speed at the Indy 500.
