Author's bio

TORBEN RIISE, a native of Denmark, holds a Ph.D. in biotechnology and an MBA in business economy. He has a 20-year long career as a business executive. Besides being a prolific writer, he has spoken/given presentations at many international conferences and has appeared in numerous radio and TV programs in his native country.

Torben moved to Florida in 1987 and currently lives in Miami. Besides being an author/freelance writer, he has his own consulting business.

From the mid-70s to the mid-80s, Torben wrote, co-authored and edited half a dozen books and countless non-fiction articles related to scientific and ethical issues. Also, in the 80s, Torben co-produced and wrote parts of the lyrics for locally produced musicals in Denmark. In 1995, he turned to fiction writing and has completed the above three novels.

Two more books in the Emily-series ("Emily and The Man from Shanghai" and "Emily and The Northwood Mystery") are in progress.

Torben Riise is a member of the South Florida Writers Association (Natl. Writers Assn.), American Humanists Association and Florida Humanists.
