Two years ago I decided to research my fathers family in an effort to teach myself to use a computer. Little did I know how addicting that would be. Now I know how to use the computer, and I have a lot of answers about my family. But for every answer I've found, more questions remain.
A lot of good people have helped me along the way and I would like to pass the favor on by sharing what I have found with anyone with the need to know. Please remember that a lot of this information has not been proven, and I leave it to you to seek the proof on your own. If however you do find an error in what you see, please let me know so that I can change it. Also, when I first began I knew nothing of recording sources, so have forgotten the names of some who shared their information with me. If you see something on these pages that you have contributed and would like to be credited for that infomation please do let me know so that I can give you the credit that you do deserve. That said here is what I DO know.
John Haley came to Tennessee in the 1850s.The Fulkerson papers say that he came from VA from Ireland, but so far I have found no connection to either.I do know that he married Sarah Burke in 1857 in Claiborne County.Sarah was the daughter of James Burke, mother unknown.
Three children were born to them between the years of 1860 and 1863.They were James Samuel, Margaret and Lucinda. By 1870 Sarah is listed as a widow and is living with her brother. Was John killed in the war? Who were his parents? These are only a few of the questions that need answers.
