I'm Vanessa A. Johnson,
I didn’t start writing until the close, untimely deaths of her mother and son in 1994, although I have had a passion for the written word all of my life.

My first book, When Death Comes a Knockin', is a self-help book about coping with loss through death and the grief process. It is filled with helpful information to aid someone who has experienced grief, tips on how to help others through the process as well as Biblical scriptures for inspiration.

My 2nd book, Sacrifices In The Name of Love is a work of fiction. It is an multi-cultural mainstream novel about Trey, an African American teenager, and Tessa, a Caucasian teenager, who are neighbors and throw caution to the wind and begin a torrid affair, despite the fact that Tessa's father is a self-proclaimed racist.

It won't be long before their worlds are turned upside down and they faced with making sacrifices, all in the name of love.

Through my writing, I hope to Encourage, Enlighten and Inspire you, the reader. Browse through the site. You will find helpful resourses for the writer as well as some of my favorite choices lining the shelves at bookstores.
